Course Details :-
  • In-Person Course

During the course on the day, we will learn about:

  • The history and chemistry behind cold process soap making
  • Equipment needed and where to get it
  • Safety measures required
  • Which oils, butters and waxes can be used and the benefits each can offer
  • How to blend essential oils
  • What moulds can be used
  • Using botanicals from your own garden to decorate/colour your soaps naturally
  • How to treat and store your soap once it’s made
  • Advanced techniques such as ‘swirling’ or using goat’s milk
  • Troubleshooting
  • How to make a shampoo bar

You will each leave the studio with two reusable moulds filled with soap ready to be cut and cured at home, a workshop folder and access to a private Facebook Soap Making group to share success stories! You will also be able to ask Sophie any questions you may have over the course of your soap making journey.

 

What's included in the price

All the ingredients, safety equipment advice and guidance (provided by our Founder, Sophie) is included in your experience. You will each leave the studio with two reusable moulds filled with soap ready to be cut and cured at home, a workshop folder and access to a private Facebook Soap Making group to share success stories! You will also be able to ask Sophie any questions you may have over the course of your soap making journey.

    Make Your Own Soap On-Line with the Dartmoor Soap Company

    Our make your own soap kits contain everything you need to make up to 8 large natural, cold process soap in the comfort of your own kitchen. They also include a 30-minute Zoom call with Sophie, the founder of The Dartmoor Soap Company, who will talk you through the process and be on hand to answer any questions you may have before starting. All ingredients are measured, but the instructions give you the recipe should you wish to repeat the process using the reusable mould.
