Free Machine Embroidery with Sarah Sewell

Free-machine embroidery has been described by Kirsty Allsopp as ‘the crack cocaine of the crafting world!’ and I have to agree – it is VERY addictive!
Sarah’s workshop will introduce you to this fascinating art form – it can be described as drawing with your sewing machine.
You will learn how to set up a sewing machine ready for free-machine embroidery, and can have fun practising doodling and ‘writing’ onto fabric. Once you have mastered the basics, you will design and create your own framed textile picture using free-machine embroidery & appliqué techniques.
There will be a selection of fabrics available for you to use in your appliqué design, but you are very welcome to bring your own fabric if you prefer.
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to set up a sewing machine for free-machine embroidery and have the knowledge to create your own textile art at home.
Information regarding suitable fabrics and threads etc and where to buy them will also be given to you.
