You will learn the process of making jewellery with silver clay from start to finish. You’ll learn how to handle, roll, shape and texture it, before drying and refining. You’ll then be shown how your jewellery is kiln fired and finish the session with polishing your charm. Your charm will be ready to take home with you on the day! (please note that no torch firing will be done in this session due to the length of the workshop. If you want to experience torch firing then please book a place on either the half day or full day workshop)
Precious Metal Silver clay is made up of very fine particles of recycled silver, water and a non-toxic binder. When your piece is fired, the binder burns away, leaving you with solid fine silver. The process is truly magical. Art Clay fine (99.9%) silver will be used during this workshop.
This workshop is aimed at those with no little or no experience of working with Silver Clay.

Terrazzo Tray Workshop with Laura from Dottie + Olive – 21st February 2024

    6pm-9pm

Terrazzo Tray Workshop with Laura from Dottie + Olive …
Come and enjoy an evening of creative fun making your own Terrazzo tray with Laura, founder at dottie + olive using Jesmonite. Jesmonite is termed as an eco resin as it’s free of voc’s, solvents and is water based, think of it a little like a concrete or cement but with way more possibilities. It’s super easy and quick to work with, so you will be able to take your dish home with you on the same day.
    During the workshop, you will:
Learn how to create your own terrazzo chips in your chosen colours
Measure, mix and cast your own oval tray with your terrazzo mix
Sand your piece to reveal your gorgeous terrazzo design.
You will also receive some concrete wax and a bamboo cloth to take home so that you can seal and shine your piece the following day.
You don’t need to bring anything with you as all materials, tools and products will be supplied (please note, Jesmonite can be a messy craft so don’t wear your best clobber).
