Join me in experimenting with locally grown and foraged dyes to create a range of colours using a selection of natural fibre samples. The day will include a short talk on the history of natural dyes and their benefits as part of a local, regenerative textile system. There will also be a short walk (weather dependant) to identify seasonal local flora and how to responsibly forage for the dye pot. Learn how to prepare your fibres, the process of dyeing and after care of your colours to ensure longevity. Find out where to source yarns, fabrics dyes and equipment in order to carry on your experimentations at home.
