You will never look at an empty cereal box in the same way again. Discover a hobby that does not break the bank and is gentle on the environment.

Over three days, you will learn how to:

  • Plan, make and decorate a journal cover that is sturdy, visually pleasing and fit for the purpose you have for it.
  • Create a ‘hole template’ (for binding) for your journal, and learn how to create one for any sized journal you make in the future.
  • Notice the textures, patterns, weight etc of the junk paper and select papers best suited to your journal’s purpose and design.
  • Cut your selected papers to their sizes to create interesting signatures.
  • Pierce holes in your signatures, choose your binding material and sew the signatures into your journal.
  • Create and add a closure to your journal.
  • Create and add paper beads to your journal.
  • Design and make embellishments for your journal, e.g. tabs, tags, pockets, tip-ins etc.
