This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some prior knowledge. During this session, you will make a set of three sterling silver stacking rings. You will be supplied with enough wire, and you can choose to make one with beaded wire if you wish. You can texture a ring or leave one plain polished silver, the choice is yours!

During this workshop, you will learn how to create jewellery with resin (epoxy resin). You can create various pieces testing out different colour combinations, adding inclusions such as flowers/petals, feathers, glitter/mica powers, confetti etc. Some silver plated bezels will be provided for creating pendants. Included is plenty of resin for your creations, pigments and items to set into resin available, but please feel free to bring anything along with you. Moulds for creating different shapes are also available. Items will need to be left to cure, so they can either be collected if you live locally, or if not I will post your items out to you.

Simple bangle and ring making workshop –
During this workshop, you will make your own sterling silver bangle and ring (1 bangle and 1 ring). The bangle you can make from either slim round or square wire, and you can add a texture, twist your wire or create a wave bangle if you like. You will also make a simple ring from the choice of wires available including beaded wire, or you can twist your wire, add some texture or create a wave ring if you like. I will guide you through the steps on how to add texture to your silver, cut and shape, file and finish with a final polish. You will be able to practice on copper or brass before deciding on your final designs.

Silhouette Pendant and Earrings –
During this session, I will guide you through the steps to make your own pendant and matching earrings from sterling silver sheet. You can choose the shape and either keep it simple or go for a more complicated design depending on previous experience. You can choose from a variety of shapes and designs such a square, circle, leaf shape, heart, butterfly shape or your favourite animal. You can also add texture or stamp a design or letters etc onto your chosen shape/design. You will practice on copper first before choosing which design to make in silver and finish off with a chain/earring wires. This session is great for learning about a variety of ways to add texture to silver and basic forming methods.

Bezel setting a stone or sea glass – This workshop is better suited to those with some soldering and silver smithing experience. You will make a ring from silver, create the bezel for your stone or sea glass and solder it onto the ring base before finally setting a stone/glass of your choice. Silver and stones/sea glass are provided, however please feel free to bring your own stone/sea glass if you have something you want to use. (You can also make a necklace if you prefer).

Jewellery Making 10 -week course – choice of days/times available, Wednesday evening 6.30 – 8.30 pm or Friday morning 10.00 – 12.00 pm. The next intake starts week beginning April 25th 2022. I also run an intermediate level course (see website for details).
This course is suitable for beginners or students with some prior knowledge. Beginners will start with using copper to learn basic techniques such as how to anneal metal, filing, forming, cutting metal with a piercing saw, adding texture and soldering. This course includes 1 ring making project in silver – Beginners will make a bezel set ring or halo pendant (either stone or sea glass), silver and stones for this will be supplied along with lots of copper for practising each technique. Students who have previously attended the beginners course will make a tube set ring (materials included) and for the rest of the course you can set your own projects. Students who haven’t made a bezel set ring can choose this option if they wish. Returning students will need to purchase their own silver for any further projects you want to undertake. Copper for practising and perfecting your design is supplied.
This course will run for 10 weeks starting week beginning 13th September and there will be a week off at half-term (last week of October) so a total of 10 sessions
