Our tutor will show you how to get started, from threading the machine, explain the stitches and tension, through to making a simple sampler or something of your choice.

  • In-Person Course

    Basic Dressmaking

    Students would be required to bring fabric and a commercial pattern of their choice,  basic to intermediate level.
    You will learn how to lay, cut and assemble your garment. Key construction techniques such as inserting sleeves, darts, zips and button holes.  Demonstrations will be given. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine to gain experience in using it, or we do have machines on site which can be used. During the five weeks, students will gain confidence in using a machine and completing a garment.
