HOW TO SEW A ROMAN BLIND

Roman blinds are a great way of dressing a window, giving a simple, unfussy look. Whether you choose a patterned or plain fabric, you can make a feature of your windows without the expense of curtains.

The aim of this class is to demonstrate all the techniques and stitches required to make a lined and interlined roman blind using your sewing machine and also sewing by hand to create a professional looking finish. You will create a 1m x 1m sample blind which will be velcroed onto a metal headrail.

This class is suitable for anyone with basic hand sewing and sewing machine skills. If you are unsure whether you have these skills, why not sign up to our introductory class “How to get the best from your sewing machine”.

All our classes at Pretty Sitting are designed to give students professional standard teaching in small groups. So, places are always limited, but we run a programme of classes throughout the year, and hopefully you can find dates that suit.
Please bring a packed lunch with you. We have a small kitchen/dining facility within the workshop where you can use a fridge, microwave and kettle. Alternatively, there are a number of food shops and eateries locally in the Gorge or in the village centre.
