Juliet teaches in an accessible, workshop style with illustrated ‘info-bites’ and relevant exercises for you to think about your own garden. As well as being an award-winning garden designer, Juliet has been teaching gardening to professionals and enthusiasts for over 15 years. The Venue Old Barn Nurseries is one of the largest nurseries in Sussex. Having been recently re-vamped, we will meet in the purpose-built studio.     Lino Printing Inspired by Nature.
    Learn to carve your own beautiful linocuts and create original lino prints inspired by plants and nature.

    Introduction.
    Join us at the beautiful, Pitfield Barn Cut Flower Farm to learn how to design and carve your own linocuts.
    We begin with an introduction to linocut – how to use the carving tools and basic cutting techniques. At first, you will make your own small practice block to learn the techniques. Once confident, you will design your own A6 Block, taking inspiration from the gardens, resource materials or your own images.
    You will be shown how to ink your lino block and burnish prints by hand.
    Everyone will take home several completed images.

    Tutor Description.
    Wendy Darby, is a qualified teacher, designer and crafter. She has had a varied and eclectic career, both nationally and internationally, which she draws upon for her crafting and design inspiration. She is a qualified Garden Designer, encompassing the phrase ‘inspired by the Garden’ in almost everything she undertakes. Now settled in East Sussex, she enjoys sharing her interests with others.     Pressed Flower Art for Beginners.
    Learn to create your own personalised art from flowers that you have harvested and prepared yourself.

    Introduction.
    A relaxing day surrounded by the beautiful flowers of Pitfield Barn Cut Flower Farm. Learn to harvest, prepare flowers for pressing and be inspired to create your own personalised art.
    The workshop will commence with a demonstration, by Wendy, of the art of flower pressing, including how to select and prepare your flowers through the seasons.
    You will choose a variety of fresh flowers from the farm garden, to press in your personal flower press. The press and flowers will be yours to take home at the end of the day.
    We will also work with pre-pressed flowers which we have pressed for you. We will guide you through techniques for mounting and framing your pressed flowers, to make cards and other keepsakes. Venue: Pitfield Barn Cut Flower Farm, Chalkers Lane, Hurstpierpoint.
