This workshop is suitable for beginners, no prior experience necessary. It’s upstairs at Bonds in Dodwell. This full day workshop will offer you the opportunity to safely learn how to cut & layer sheet glass. You can experiment with coloured frits, stringers & ribbons (these are all types of coloured glass which resemble sea salt, spaghetti and tagliatelle!) discover the design possibilities when encasing metal foils or mica powders in between layers of glass or marvel at the beautiful 'bubble details' you can achieve when using copper oxide powder. During the course of the day you will produce an average of at least 5 pieces of glass- these could be stylish & eye-catching items of jewellery, beautifully illuminated candleholders, stunning sun-catchers suspended from a matching organza ribbon, a jolly collection of Christmas decorations, a unique coaster for that perfect cuppa etc. For the price you receive tuition to support you at your own pace, use of equipment and materials, up to three firings, once fired your work will have any findings, ribbons, stands added for you and will be carefully packaged up and posted to you anywhere in the UK. There is a lovely in-house café to purchase refreshments and food (we stop for lunch at 12.30pm).
