The stool is made using traditional wedge tenon joints, and spokeshaving to shape the legs and top. We then steam bend the lower rail and fix it in place using wooden pegs and wedges, carefully shaped using a variety of hand planes and chisels. You will be using hand tools throughout, with some use of the pillar drill. The result is a unique stool which doubles as a small coffee table. However you decide to use it, it’ll be a piece of furniture you can take pride in for decades to come!

What's included in the price

All materials and tools for the duration of the course are included. If you would like to bring your own tools, we can show you how to set them up for fine, precision work. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are provided throughout the day. You can bring your own lunch, or buy lunch at Kilkhampton or Bude, each a 10-minute drive from our workshop.
