We will spend the principal part of the day modelling in clay with ongoing discussions on art, technique and process. The clay bas-relief (low relief) will be of a shallow image, which can be of your own choosing. Information will be provided prior to the course. Arrive at 10am and have a tour of our foundry, studios and sculpture gardens, meet the team and other participants with fresh coffee and biscuits before beginning the teaching session in our clay room. We all stop for a sit-down lunch in our gallery, with a convivial Mediterranean feast (dietary requirements can be catered for). We aim to finish the sculpture course around 4.30pm. Clay will be air-hardening, which can be taken home and painted when dry if desired. Another option is for you to have your work cast into a permanent medium. This can be either bronze or plaster of Paris by the foundry and will be charged for separately.
