Make a Serving Tray
Build a practical wooden serving tray using basic power tools. Learn design, layout, cutting and jointing.
You will cut materials to size from the drawing and using the power mitre saw create mitre joints. You will use the router table and templates to create the tray ends and create grooves for the tray bottom and glue and assemble the project ready for staining or painting.

Basket Weaving Course
Create your very own willow basket. We take you through the entire basket weaving process, from how to harvest your willow to how to care for your basket.
Join us to learn how to make a traditional willow basket. On our basket weaving course we will teach you all the steps to making your very own stake and stand wicker basket, as well as discuss willow harvesting, basket after care, and look at alternative materials that can be used in basket making.
As well as expert tuition from our instructors, and all the necessary equipment, we will provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to delve into this wonderful ancient craft.
During this course, we will guide you how to make a small waste paper style basket. The skills you learn on our course will enable you to scale this up or down and change the base materials, giving you countless possibilities for the future. To whet your appetite for future projects we will have a display of willow baskets and ones made from other materials covering a range of traditional, modern contemporary, artistic and functional baskets. Some of these are made by our instructor team and others by local crafts people.
Wicker Basketry and basket weaving is an age-old practice, used in a range of contexts across a huge time span. Its careful craft is being lost, so join us, to learn this ancient craft and keep the knowledge alive.
This course is either run out of Gilestone Woods, in the Heart of the Brecon Beacons, or our South London Woodland, just 15 minutes off junction 8 of the M25 and easily accessible by train too.

Beginners Silver Clay Workshop
Suitable for absolute beginners, in this lovely non-rushed fun workshop in a rural location you can create pure silver charms, earrings or a pendant in a design of your choice with our guidance using silver metal clay, 925 sterling silver jump rings and ear wires are included to finish your jewellery. You will learn how to make a mould, add textures and layering, how to shape and fire your silver using a hand torch and also how to use a kiln, finishing off with polishing your jewellery in different ways. Learn how to keep and preserve your clay and basic silver soldering. In this workshop, you will never be rushed, and we are happy to give extra time to finish your project. Suitable for adults and children aged 11+. Pick up and drop off from a choice of 2 train stations available. This is a full day of silver clay learning. For a group workshop, we can bring and hold at a venue of your choice.

Silver Clay Mask Pendant
Suitable for those that have some experience using metal clay, however we are prepared to adapt for beginners too and those that have attended a beginners metal clay workshop.
The workshop is for a full day starting at 9am and ending when your piece is finished. You will not be rushed. With our guidance you will learn to create a beautiful mask pendant using 30g of silver clay, silver paste and silver syringe, finishing off firing in a kiln and polishing in a barrel tumbler. The photos are previous projects, you can create your own style.
Have fun and learn a new skill, step by step at your own pace in a relaxing friendly non-rushed environment. You will learn soldering, texturing, layering, moulding, how to reconstitute clay, making your own silver clay paste and storing the metal clay for later usage.
We are happy to extend if you need more time to finish your project, or we can kiln fire and post to you.
